- Samsung Galaxy Note 8 officially launches in the UK
April 7, 2013
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is
now on sale from the Samsung Experience store in Westfields Stratford City. The
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 version on sale is the WiFi only version with 16GB of internal storage, priced at £339 (around $516).
ZDNet reports that a customer representative from the store does not think
higher capacity versions will be making their way to the UK, due to the microSD
expansion capabilities acting as a solution for extra storage. However, "a
mobile data-equipped version should go on sale in around one month". The
tablet is currently only available from one store in the UK in Westfields,
Stratford City.
From April 15th for a limited time only, customers will
receive a £20 voucher for the Samsung Learning Hub, a two-month subscription to
The Times, free access to the Samsung Music Hub for a month, 50GB Drop Box free
for 2 years, and a couple of games and
AVG Anti-Virus Pro for free.
An official press release from Samsung says the new mid-size
tablet will come "with a suite of intuitive features and an evolved S pen'.
The
tablet features include a suite of S Note templates and tools for documents,
multi-tasking with Quick Command, Multi-Window View splitting the 8-inch screen
and allowing a number of live applications at the same time.
Key
specs of the device are a 1.6GHz quadcore A9
processor, a 1280x900 pixel display, 2GB RAM and microSD support
for cards up to 64GB.
